Friends, how many times you planned to dine out and selected vegetarian restaurants over non-vegetarian? Very rare, right? I am sure you can count those instances on your fingertip. While we dine out, almost all of the non-vegetarian folks, prefer or look for an exotic non-veg restaurant. I am certainly in that category. But on a few occasions, you have no choice but have to visit a veg restaurant. A bit difficult situation, right? But then this is where you discover some surprisingly nice restaurants around. Landed accidentally for lunch with a couple of friends, Eshanya Restaurant proved me wrong, who though you can not dine out in a veg restaurant.
When you are talking about casual dining, very few restaurants match the likes of Eshanya. Obviously, there are Rajdhani, Kesariya, etc. which are hugely popular veg restaurants know for insane unlimited thali items. These restaurants lack an informal, and casual approach in their philosophy.
Eshanya was founded in March of 2012 by G. Srinivas Rao, chairperson of the Mayura Group offers a wide gamut of services besides finger-licking vegetarian food. It is the same group that owns Taza Thindi, Cakewala, and a few more well-known brands in Bangalore.
Eshanya, Location: #33, 26th Main, 36th Cross Road, 4T Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore, 560041
Located in a prime area, Eshanya is one of the most sought restaurants in Jayanagar. Mayura group who is in charge of building owns multiple services in the building. Be it ground floor Cakewala, AC restaurant, Banquet Hall, or rooftop restaurant Eshanya.
Inspired by Kerala houseboats, a beautifully designed architecture with high wooden ceilings, rustic-looking doors with antique iron door rings Eshanya is a choice for many. The walls display Copper utensils from the kitchen of yesteryears renders old-world charm.
You can sit on the edge of the building to get an amazing view of Bangalore city. I believe be it family lunch, or a romantic setting Eshanya is a perfect place with a unique ambiance and live kitchen facility.
All the brands under Mayura group follow the same open kitchen philosophy. Open kitchen help bring confidence in food and serve food hot and fresh. Eshanya has set very high standards for a fine dining experience. And their courteous staff will ensure you get a treatment befitting royalty.
The sitting arrangement is comfortable and spacious. Though the dining area is not very large; rooftop dining makes it airy and its ambiance surely takes out any stress. Being a vegetarian restaurant, you can see the rare sight of waiting for a queue when you visit over a weekend.
Eshanya is a delight for vegetarians, they have a range of cuisines to make you drool. From South Indian thalis to North Indian thalis and other dishes to Chinese cuisine, they also have a live kitchen on the rooftop restaurant to ensure food is served fresh and piping hot to you!
I had multiple rounds at Eshanya tasting different thalis to north Indian dishes to Chinese. Top-notch quality and freshness are common across my dining experience. Menu card has different sections from Shorba to Chinese to sizzlers to mocktails to north Indian end up with desserts.
Soups are kind of okay and found not that great and very much different. Starters and main course that steals the show. Paneer be it a starter or the main course, is too soft and you can taste the freshness in every bite to name it Subzi zayekedar is must try. Apart from paneer, thali was good nothing like wow factor. In bread Garlic Kulcha tasted awesome.
I tried Chinese dishes as well. You can not compare it with the original Chinese restaurant and taste but the decent taste and you cannot complain much about it.
Certainly, Eshanya has made a place in opinion and when someone asks me about a good veg restaurant, Eshanya comes by default. With a casual and informal approach, Eshanya can be on top of your list too.
