Good evening friends, I wish everyone a happy Gudi Padva, Ugadi, etc. May this testing time-end soon and everyone to be back to a happy and healthy time.
With Coronavirus outbreak and a lot of countries are in lockdown I wish everyone to be at a safe place and please, please do not venture out unless it is critical or as per the direction of respective authorities.
Food is a celebration in our life. Every occasion has food-associated and food plays a significant role in any celebration. And I believe Absolutely Barbecues (ABs) is one of the best places to celebrate with an amazing variety of cuisines.
Founded by Prosenjit Roy Choudhury, who co-partnered the very successful multi-city Barbecue Nation, AB’s first outlet launched in Hyderabad and over the last few years expanded to 40 outlets across India and Dubai.
AB’s or Absolute Barbecues actually doesn’t need any introduction. It’s probably the only restaurant to be rated very high (4.5 and above out of 5) across multiple cities and outlets, with hundreds and thousands of reviews.
Absolute Barbecues have offered a great buffet spread at a relatively competitive price. A mentioned relatively is because at first prices might look very high but when you see what you get with that price tag, its totally worth it.
AB’s came up with the Wish grill concept and claimed to be India’s first wish grill restaurant and I believe so. Wish grill is a grill (inspired by the Mongolian\Oriental teppanyaki live grill). Their regular buffet menu features a large number of barbecue and grill starters, a sizeable main course which I will just touch and go after loads of starters, and of course the large desserts spread. With the saying “Everything is well, that ends well”, AB’s ensures you are finishing a meal on a happy note.
Visiting AB’s definitely needs a big appetite and offers everything a regular person wants while eating out. With the amazing experience, usually, we prefer (friends and family) who rarely eat out have been to Absolute Barbecue regularly.
Like the name suggest and like any modern restaurant, Absolute Barbeques has a live kitchen, a bar, and favorite wish grill, while the ambiance is casual with bright lights and comfortable seating arrangement with sofas and chairs. Over weekends you will feel a bit crowded, but it is functional, with well-lit and space around. The restaurant is not very big sized and covers around 200 people, so when it gets crowded, maneuvering your way through tables, may prove to be a test.
The food at AB’s is consistently good, and the service is always exceptional. Apart from normal days kabab’s and grill’s AB’s do host specialized food festivals. A lot of times I keep receiving communications about hosting food festivals focusing on particular cuisine like Seafood, Persian and other country-specific food fests.
The menu changes within the format of live barbecues brought to your table, on skewers, followed by a stint at the wish, ending with a buffet counter. On the day I dined with was Marine fest and I must say, I am impressed with what’s on offer.
Vegetarian barbecues included Pesto Mushroom, Paneer Tikka, American Cheesy Potato, Dahi ke Sholay, Paneer Kabab’s and some nice Barbecued Pineapple and crispy corn. Also, they have exotic chaat options, where Papdi chat will serve you at the table and for pani puri and other chaat options, we need to visit the counter. Probably you will feel very limited options for vegetarian food and nothing exotic about it.
The live grill lends itself to some exotic meats (rabbit, emu, shark, octopus, seafood) and vegetables. There are table dips which include Garlic Mano, Mint Chutney, Mango Salsa, etc for dressing up the taste.
Before I close just wanted to mention, one more reason to visit, sorry not visit to celebrate AB’s is they have party arranged for you. On the eve of birthday’s, anniversary they will arrange cake and celebration music.
So it’s definitely a must-visit place especially for non-veg lovers and celebrate the joy of food.
